Introduction
INSTANT POWER™ products are innnovative, portable and long-lasting power solutions for a variety of high-tech electronic devices, including cellphones, PDAs, camcorders and digital cameras. INSTANT POWER products provide back-up and emergency power and are always ready anytime, anywhere.

Zinc-Air Technology
All INSTANT POWER batteries and chargers are built using Electric Fuel's 3300 mAh, 1.4V zinc-air cell. The cells are assembled in series to provide the required voltage and set in injection-molded plastic cases which contain holes to allow air access to the cells.

All INSTANT POWER batteries and chargers typically give the user several times the operating time (talk and standby for cellphones, recording time for camcorders, etc.) that the device's rechargeable batteries provide.

The INSTANT POWER Charger uses zinc-air batteries as hand-held chargers for the phone or PDA's rechargeable battery, and can support simultaneous charging and operation. Users can expect to get 3 charges of a typical 700-900 mAh rechargeable battery.

The INSTANT POWER Charger is designed so that the same battery — the patented PowerCartridge — can be used with all cellphones and PDAs that have 3.6V lithium-ion rechargeable cells. The charging interface and power electronics are contained in the SmartCord™ adapter. Each SmartCord model is suitable for use with a wide range of products from a given manufacturer. Replacement PowerCartridges are also sold separately for customers who already have a SmartCord.

The batteries and charger cartridges have a shelf life of 3 years in their original packaging, and active life of about 3 months after being removed from the packaging, if stored in the reclosable pouch supplied with the INSTANT POWER products.
